Alex Kattan is a marine ecologist from Florida specializing in coral reef fishes and marine megafauna. Holding a Masters in Marine Science, his most recent work involved describing the population of giant manta rays in the Red Sea using photo-identification. A PADI Divemaster with more than 1,500 logged dives, Alex has extensive experience working and guiding marine expeditions in the Red Sea and Indian Ocean. Alex is a passionate proponent of citizen science and has advanced several such projects involving whale sharks, manta rays, sea turtles and reef fishes.
